After applying for internships at a lot of companies, I was invited for the an interview. This interview took place on December 10, 2020. I was quite excited since this was the first positive response I received in relation to my internship hunt, but it also made me quite nervous. I realized that it took a long time to get a response at all, since I only received one negative and one positive response during the past six months. I was told previously that many students are facing some issues when it comes to securing an internship in general and since we are still in the middle of Covid-19 it makes the task even more difficult and more hurdles are added to the way of reaching the goal of securing an internship.

Since I had these thoughts of how difficult it is, it made me even more nervous and worried that if I would not be able to convince the interviewer, that I would be a good addition to the team, I would not be able to find an internship. Looking back at this event, it was not helpful to see this as it being my only chance, but I am also viewing it as a learning experience. Every interview can help one to get more accustomed to such a situation where you basically have to sell yourself and convince others of your great abilities and skills. Of course I would like to do some things different if I could go back in time, but I can also keep these points in mind for the next interview, whether it might be for another internship or a real job.

Overall, the interview went quite well and the interviewer was very kind and friendly, which took some of the nervousness away. I also appreciate that the setting did not seem too formal and strict. This gave me the impression that the team that I would be working in consists of nice and welcoming people that value others.
